Honda's 2013 Insight is a hybrid electric vehicle that features Honda's Integrated Motor Assist system. The exterior of the new 2013 Honda Insight receives more distinctive grill design, restyled front and rear bumpers, redesigned headlights and brake lights and slightly wider tires for more efficient handling.

The Insight's hybrid Powertrain features a 1.3-liter 8-valve, i-VTEC gasoline inline-4 engine paired with a DC-brushless electric motor. The system produces 98-hp and 123 lb-ft of torque. Friction-reduction treated parts and a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) work to bump the Insight's EPA to a rating of 41 mpg city/44 mpg highway/42 mpg combined*.

The 2013 Insight is offered in three trims. The base model comes with automatic climate control, power locks and has a 160-watt, two-speaker audio system. Insight LX will feature a four-speaker audio system, USB audio interface, an armrest console and a security system. Whereas, the Insight EX features alloy wheels, paddle shifters, cruise control and stability control.

The Honda Insight features the Eco Assist System, an innovation that can help drivers improve fuel efficiency, both by altering vehicle functionality and providing feedback about driving style via a 3D-like background within the speedometer. Pressing the ECON button can further enhance the efficiency of multiple vehicle systems: throttle control, CVT operation, idle-stop duration, air conditioning and cruise-control operation (if equipped).

Safety features of all 2013 Insight models come standard with stability and traction control, antilock brakes (front disc, rear drum), brake assist, front side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. In addition, Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure provides improved occupant protection by crash compatibility between vehicles of different sizes and ride heights in frontal crashes.
